Relay Technician job with training provided

We’re currently hiring a new technician and providing training in the skills and knowledge necessary to work in the field of system protection.
As a Relay Testing Technician (in training), you’ll: learn relay logic, how to operate protective relay test equipment, and use testing software to test a wide variety of protective relays (SEL, Basler, GE etc) for the T&D industry. You will develop a working knowledge in electrical systems protection and control. You will shadow a relay technician initially. Eventually you will work alone conducting field calibration & commission tests on a variety of E/M and microprocessor protective relaying & schemes.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Electronics background and power engineering experience a plus.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Willingness to travel 80% (client site travel).
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of various Window platforms, and Microsoft Office is required.
• Familiarity with modern test equipment .
• Comply with all company safety rules and procedures.
• Be responsible for tools, test equipment and vehicles.
• Must transport 60 lb test set to testing sites.
• Develop advanced skills and the ability to work independently.
• Ability to adapt to changing technology.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work out of town.
